Batik Tanjung

Batik Tanjung represents the island of Penang, located on the north of Malaysia, and its people. Tanjung means cap in Malay language, and extremely common geographical name in the Malay world. It is also a synonym by the locals for people who lives on the island of Penang. With the bold, vibrant and cheerful colours and design symbolic of the richness and diversities of cultures, heritage and people of Penang island. It is traditionally hand-blocked by the Penang Batik Factory, Teluk Bahang.
